FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TransPacificTelecom wins "Product of the Year" from Internet Telephony Magazine
VIVOware singled out for technological excellence, innovation, vision
SAN DIEGO, CA., and NORWALK, CT., Dec. 11, 2002 - Internet Telephony® Magazine today named VIVOware and VIVO COMPLETE from TransPacificTelecom (TPT) winners of the "Product of the Year" award.

TPT wins the prestigious award from the premier publication in the rapidly growing Internet telephony industry mere weeks after VIVOware and VIVO COMPLETE were first previewed and named "Best of Show" winners at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo, held October 2002 in San Diego and widely considered the number-one global event focused on voice, video, fax and data convergence.

"It's amazing to be so quickly recognized for transforming Voice over IP telephony," said Stephen Thomas, founder and chief executive officer of TPT. "We are very proud to be awarded Product of the Year and I believe this honor confirms that TPT definitely has the right product and right service at the right time."

"TransPacificTelecom is a clear innovator in the IP telephony industry. We're proud to reward their hard work and vision with a Product of the Year Award for 2002," said Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and group editor-in-chief of Internet Telephony.

According to Greg Galitzine, editorial director of Internet Telephony, TransPacificTelecom earned the Product of the Year honors for delivering cutting-edge products and services.

"The Product of the Year award is meant not only to honor the outstanding teams who developed and manufactured the products and services on our winning list, but also to educate our readers on the vast array of offerings in this market. Choosing the winners was a difficult process, and we spent many hours studying the applications we received from vendors, as well as looking through materials we collected on our own over the past year," said Galitzine.

The award winning VIVOware is a feature-rich billing and customer care software application. It provides complete Web-enabled call detail record tracking, rating and routing, call completion reporting, automated customer invoicing and payment gateway, reporting and management tools with automated domestic and International rate tables, trouble tickets, and more.

VIVO COMPLETE integrates VIVOware with TPT's network for routed domestic and international long-distance. For global applications, TPT's software and services deliver voice services over broadband Internet to remote locations where traditional phone service can take months to install and can be prohibitively costly. Aimed at the residential market, TPT will be offering a service for dial up users in 2003.

VIVO COMPLETE is highly scalable, designed to support a range of business models, including flat-rate billing options and billions of calls. TPT's Alliance Partners and resellers set their own long-distance and local rates, design their own service plans, offer customized commission schedules, and provide personalized agent and customer access to VIVOware's Web-based software.

"VIVOware and VIVO COMPLETE are everything an Internet provider needs," said TPT's Thomas. "It's the billing software that generates revenue, even if the ISP chooses to offer discount rate plans that undercut traditional phone carriers. It adapts the existing high-speed Internet connection - subscribers just plug their existing phone into a special adapter that is connected to their broadband cable, and dial away. The quality of the call is indistinguishable from a call made using a regular phone line. ISPs don't have to build a new network or create billing software, and they may private-label or co-brand the service."
